Make a Plan to Vote: Why It Matters & How to Do It

Election Day is just around the corner, and one of the most important things you can do right now is make a plan to vote. We know that when people plan ahead, they’re far more likely to actually cast their ballot. With voter turnout being a major issue in past elections, making a voting plan isn’t just helpful—it’s essential.

Why Make a Voting Plan?

Eliminate Last-Minute Barriers – Life gets busy. When you plan in advance, you won’t find yourself scrambling on Election Day.
Boost Turnout – Studies show that people who commit to a voting plan are much more likely to follow through.
Encourage Others – When you tell friends and family about your plan, they’re more likely to vote, too.

How to Create Your Voting Plan

🔹 Step 1: Check Your Registration
Make sure you’re registered at your current address. If you’ve moved recently, you may need to update your information.

🔹 Step 2: Choose Your Voting Method

  • Advance Voting: Check when and where you can vote before Election Day (Feb 20 - 22)
  • Election Day Voting: Find your assigned polling station and its hours.
  • Mail-In Voting: If you prefer to vote by mail, apply for a mail-in ballot before Feb 21.

🔹 Step 3: Decide When You’ll Vote
Look at your schedule and set a specific date and time to vote. Treat it like an appointment you can’t miss.

🔹 Step 4: Know What to Bring
Check what ID or documents you need. If you’re voting by mail, make sure you send your ballot on time.

🔹 Step 5: Make It Social
Text a friend, remind your family, or even organize a group voting trip. The more people involved, the bigger the impact.

The Time to Act is Now

We’re 16 days away from Election Day, and advance polls open in just 9 days. That means now is the time to prepare. If you want change, if you want your voice heard, the most powerful thing you can do is vote—and help others do the same.
